Prospect Reef Resort
Prospect Reef is the resort that will be running the swim-with-the-dolphins lagoon once the dolphins arrive. You can email them and let them know your feelings toward this and maybe mention how you would not patronize any of their services directly because they are keeping captive dolphins.
BVI Tourist Board
The BVI Tourist Board will, I'm sure, be interested to hear if you will not be visiting Tortola or the BVI because of a swim-with program running at Prospect Reef. Let them know as well if the reason for your possible visit to the islands is for the natural environment and if you feel that by having a swim-with-the-dolphins facility in the BVI spoils that naturalism.
Chief Minister Ralph O' Neal
The Chief Minister seems to be of two minds toward this whole project and rightly so. In his position he has to look at both sides, will this bring negativity to the islands, or will it bring tourism? Lets tell him what we think.
Here's a rough-draft of a message you might want to send. You can copy and paste this into your mail and add/change it as you want before sending it off.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a potential British Virgin Islands Tourist. I am appalled to learn of the recent plans to have captive dolphins in the BVI.
By keeping the BVI dolphin safe and declining Prospect Reef Resort's request to confine wild dolphins, the government of Tortola will be sending a powerful message to the rest of the world about Tortola's respect for nature and it's inhabitants.
I urge you to please reconsider the Dolphin Swim Project.
